About Student Services
The Elgin High School Student Services Department includes the Associate Principal, Assistant Principal, support staff, counselors, and social workers. Staff members provide social, personal, and academic counseling, career planning as well as access to academic records, transcripts, and report cards.
Counselors
Counselors are assigned to each student when they enter high school and serve as the main contact for students and families. They are able to provide social, personal, and academic counseling, as well as college and career planning. Counselors hold "roadshows" with students several times per year and students can also schedule individual appointments during a study hall or lunch or visit the Counselor Express in the lunch room. Parents are also encouraged to contact the counselor at any time via phone or email. Students can schedule appointments with their counselor through the "Student Services Appointment Scheduler" web page.
Social Workers
Social workers work collaboratively with counselors to provide additional support to students and connect families to in-school and out-of-school community resources. Please contact your student's social worker if social work support is needed.

Seeing a Counselor / Social Worker
Students can easily make an appointment to see their counselor or social worker. Appointments can be made during a student's lunch or study hall. Students can also stop by the Counselor Express in the lunch room during their lunch.
